Frequently asked questions
Is artificial grass safe for children?
Yes. Our play turf is manufactured lead-free and EN 71-3 / RoHS-ready, with no pesticides and no mud, and test documentation is arranged per order against the standard your market requires. The free-draining backing lets rain and sprinkler water pass through rather than pooling on the surface.
Is it soft enough for kids to play and fall on?
A 15-25 mm soft-touch pile is comfortable for play and bare feet. Where you need certified fall protection around climbing frames or slides, a shock-pad underlay raises the critical fall height to the level your play area requires.
What pile height is best for play areas?
15-25 mm is typical: plush enough to feel soft underfoot while still draining and drying quickly after rain or a sprinkler.
Does play turf drain after rain or a sprinkler?
Yes. A free-draining backing passes water straight through; drainage in service depends as much on a permeable sub-base, so base preparation matters.
Does artificial grass get too hot for bare feet?
Like any surface in direct summer sun it can warm up. A quick rinse cools it immediately, and shade over the play area helps. Lighter yarn colours and good airflow reduce heat build-up.
Is it better for children with grass allergies?
With no pollen and no soil, artificial grass avoids the common triggers of natural-lawn allergies, and there are no pesticides or fertilisers in play areas.
